Re-volve
Designed for Arco
Re-volve began with a simple ambition: to create a comfortable chair designed for a long life.
From the outset, the project focused on how materials, construction and maintenance could become part of the design itself. The aim was not only to create comfort, but to create a chair that could remain useful and relevant for many years.
Its name refers to the idea of continuous cycles — of materials, use and renewal.
Design Approach
Furniture changes over time.
Materials wear, surfaces age and needs evolve. Re-volve was developed around the idea that these changes should be considered from the very beginning rather than addressed later.
The project challenged conventional upholstery methods by focusing on longevity, repairability and responsible material choices alongside comfort and aesthetics.
Rather than treating sustainability as an added feature, it became part of the construction itself.
The ambition was to create a chair designed for a long relationship rather than a short product cycle.
Material & Construction
The chair combines a clear structural logic with carefully selected materials.
Natural latex replaced conventional foam, while the construction was developed to allow disassembly, repair and reupholstery when needed.
The generous seat and surrounding form provide comfort and support, while the simple geometry gives the chair a distinct and recognisable character.
Every decision was guided by the same principle: to extend the life of the product by making it easier to maintain, repair and renew.
The result is a chair where comfort, construction and longevity are closely connected.
